Hope du Jour is Crisis Control Ministry's signature event, celebrating its 20th year in 2010. Begun in 1990, it has become a well-established community event with over 110 participating restaurants in 2009.
All Hope du Jour donations support the mission of Crisis Control Ministry to assist people in our community who are experiencing a financial crisis to meet essential life needs, such as assistance with mortgage/rent payments, utilities and fuel oil, food and medication, and helping them to become self-sufficient. Last year Crisis Control Ministry provided food to almost 3,000 households and filled over 28.000 prescriptions or those without insurance. Assisting people in crisis to meet essential life needs and to become self-sufficient is no easy task - it's our mission.
Murph Gregg, a founding member of Hope du Jour and owner of Diamondback Grill, consistently supports Hope du Jour. Here's why:
"For three generations my family has fed people for a living. Hungerds of families in our community don't have the luxury of asking, 'What's for dinner?' I support Crisis Control Ministry because I feel a responsibility to feed the hungry. The crisis of hunger undermines dingity, dashses hopes, and limits quality of life." |
